This bill, introduced back in January this year, would start to defund public education in the United States.
It would do away with the Elementary and Education Act of 1965 (ESSA).
It abolishes the No Hungry Kids Act of 2012, which helps set nutritional standards for school meals.
It does other things as well. Read it.
If you are a parent of a child in public school, I urge you to read this bill. If you are a parent of a special needs child in public school, I also urge you to read this bill.
Make yourself aware. Call your congresspeople. Write your congresspeople. Email your congresspeople. And then write, call and email the members of the Education and Workforce Committee in the House. Tell them that this bill should be a non-starter. Tell them that we as constituents and voters will be watching. And we will be taking our vigilance to the streets and to the polls.
